After struggling offensively through much of the first half of this season, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Brandon Ingram is seemingly beginning to turn a corner. Ingram has scored in double-figures four straight games including back-to-back 17 point outings against the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat.

Over the last five games, Ingram has shot 58.8 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from three-point range, a far cry from his season averages of 37.1 and 27.8 percent respectively. But now, things may have to come to a halt.

According to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News, Ingram suffered a sprained left wrist and is undergoing x-rays to determine if he will need to miss time:

This would be a huge and unfortunate setback for Ingram should there be anything significantly wrong with him. The rookie has finally gotten more comfortable with his role and how to attack the defense and get his shot. Losing even a couple of weeks would stunt his development.

This seems as if it is something minor and the Lakers are just being precautionary with their rookie. Regardless the Lakers must take every step to ensure that that Ingram is fine to play. He is a huge part of their future, and that is why he, and a couple of others, are untouchable in trade talks.
