Los Angeles Lakers rookie Cameron Carr has a number of tools at his disposal that has many excited about the type of player he can become at the NBA level. One of those that was already on full display during his time in Summer League was his athleticism, and in particular, his ridiculous vertical leap.

Carr recorded at 38 inch standing vertical leap and a 42.5 inch max vertical leap at the NBA Draft Combine, both of which were the second-highest in his class. And because of that, the Lakers rookie comes in with the fourth-highest vertical ranking in the new NBA 2K27 video game:

While there are some rankings in the NBA 2K series that have to take a lot of different things into account, the vertical is a pretty simple one and one that can be seen any time a player steps on the court. Carr showed off that vertical leap throughout Summer League with some impressive highlights and it makes sense that he would be near the top of the rankings going into his rookie year.

Houston Rockets forward Amen Thompson is at the top of the list with a 99 ranking while Dallas Mavericks rookie Tobi Lawal, the only player to leap higher than Carr at the Draft Combine, also has a 99 vertical ranking. Thompson’s twin brother Ausar has a 98 ranking along with Carr, while Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards rounds out the top five.

Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell, Miami Heat forward Andrew Wiggins, Portland Trail Blazers guard Ja Morant, Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine and New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson complete the top 10 and considering all of the highlights that have been created between all of these players there should be no arguments about their inclusion.

The key for Carr will be utilizing that athleticism and vertical leap to make an impact on the court, particularly on the defensive end as his abilities there will be key in him cracking the rotation and getting minutes for the Lakers early as a rookie.

Cameron Carr won’t attend Luka Doncic minicamp due to mandatory NBA rookie orientation

Unfortunately for Carr, he will be the only Lakers player not attending the four-day minicamp Luka Doncic is hosting his native Slovenia as it coincides with the mandatory NBA rookie orientation that he must attend instead.
