Lakers News: D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson Both Call Themselves The Best Player In The League
Reasons To Be Optimistic About The Los Angeles Lakers
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, NBA players around the league were asked random questions about a multitude of subjects.

Among the players that were interviewed were four of the young, talented players on the Los Angeles Lakers: D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and Brandon Ingram.

Clarkson and Russell, in particular, had very similar answers to some of the questions they were asked. When asked who the best NBA players right this minute is, they both said themselves. Additionally, they were both asked who a player to watch out for this season is, and they both pegged the other guy.

Both players got the chance to play alongside Lakers legend Kobe Bryant last season, and when asked who the most merciless competitor they’ve ever faced, not shockingly they both said Bryant.

Ingram and Randle both set high goals for themselves in their career, as Ingram said that other than winning championships he wants to win an MVP award, and Randle said he wants to win seven championship rings.

All four players had different guys influence their game growing up, as Clarkson said Kevin Garnett influenced him, while Russell said Manu Ginobili, Randle said LeBron James and Ingram said, Kevin Durant.

Part of the reason the GQ did these interviews was about fashion, as GQ is a men’s fashion, style and culture magazine, so they also answered some questions regarding fashion.

Ingram said that this season he guarantees he will be the ‘swaggiest’ player in the league, but he will have some competition in Randle as he guaranteed he would be the ‘best dressed’ player in the league.

While some of those answers obviously aren’t true, it is good to see the confidence in the players that they believe they can be the best at whatever they set their minds to.
