Lakers News: Dwight Howard Game-Time Decision vs. Kings

The Los Angeles Lakers have not seen their new star center on the court yet, but there is a chance that Dwight Howard plays in tonight’s preseason game.

The Lakers will be playing an exhibition game tonight against the Sacramento Kings, and Howard will be a game-time decision. Howard has not played a game for the Lakers yet, but tonight could be his debut for the franchise. ESPN reports Howard’s status for tonight’s game versus the Kings and the chances of him hitting the court.

Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard is officially listed as a game-time decision for Sunday night’s exhibition game against the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center after making it through the Lakers’ morning shootaround without any setbacks.

Howard suffered a back injury last season and has been sidelined for quite some time. The Lakers knew that Howard would not be immediately ready once they traded for him, but at this point it seems as though the center is on the verge of a complete recovery.

Lakers coach Mike Brown sounded optimistic that Howard will make his debut tonight and from what he saw from his center during shoot-around, it would appear as though Howard will be on the court. The final decision will come in the next few hours from Lakers head trainer Garry Viti.

The Lakers will play the Kings tonight at 9:30 P.M. PST at the Staples Center.
