Meeks was given a one-year contract over the summer and there really is no guarantee that the Lakers will bring him back. However, Meeks spoke to RealGM.com and talked about his long-term future with the Los Angeles Lakers.

“Yeah, I think so,” Meeks told RealGM when asked if he believes he will be part of the Lakers beyond this season. “You can’t really worry about that right now, just finish out this year. I’ll do that and see whatever happens.”

Meeks is known for his three-point shooting and on a team that does not hit a lot of shots from beyond the arc.. Meeks is someone who fits the Mike D’Antoni system perfectly as he has the ability to stretch the floor, something that earns him minutes from the coaching staff.

He did not see a lot of playing time early on in the season, but as his confidence grew, the Lakers saw just how valuable of a player they had acquired. This season, Jodie Meeks is averaging 8.1 points and 36.5% shooting from the three-point line.
