The Los Angeles Lakers needed to trim down their roster to a maximum of 15 players before the start of the 2015-16 NBA season. After waiving Robert Upshaw, Jonathan Holmes and Michael Frazier, the Lakers needed to cut one more player before the season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With one roster spot remaining, head coach Byron Scott and company had to choose between Metta World Peace and Jabari Brown. Despite being a talented young scorer, the Lakers waived Brown in favor of World Peace’s experience.
