The Los Angeles Lakers had their first major meeting with a big-name free agent on Tuesday night with LaMarcus Aldridge coming to town. Apparently, the meeting went on for more than two hours, but unfortunately no deal was made with the veteran forward.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the meeting with Aldridge went quite well:

With Tuesday night’s meeting with Aldridge being only the beginning of the process, there’s no telling when or if the veteran would agree to sign with the team. Shelburne also tweeted about a source in the room talking about Aldridge’s focus during the meeting:

Kobe Bryant was also part of the meeting with Aldridge and appears to have left an impression, via Bill Oram of the Orange County Register:

Unless a deal somehow gets done immediately following the meeting, the Lakers will now turn their attention to the other free agents they’re set to meet with. DeAndre Jordan, Greg Monroe, and Kevin Love are also scheduled to meet with the team this week.

Jordan will meet with the Lakers on Wednesday morning. Love is scheduled to sit down with the storied franchise sometime this week. Monroe’s meeting is also uncertain in terms of an exact date and time.
