Lakers News: Metta World Peace Believes Lavar Ball Can Be An Nba Coach

LaVar Ball, the father of former UCLA star and upcoming lottery pick Lonzo Ball, has been in the news a lot recently for some of the comments he has made.

Whether it’s him saying that Lonzo is better than Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, or that he himself could beat Michael Jordan one-on-one, LaVar has proven that there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.

One person who is a fan of LaVar’s though is Metta World Peace of the Los Angeles Lakers. In a recent interview with Colin Cowherd of The Herd, World Peace complimented LaVar for what he is doing for his sons:

“I think he’s great,” World Peace said of Ball. “He’s something that we need at this point in time. He’s having a lot of fun. Okay, there’s some things he probably shouldn’t have said like talking about Michael Jordan. That’s something you don’t do. That’s my childhood hero, and you don’t talk about my childhood hero. But in terms of him supporting his kids, I love his baller brand; I feel like it’s going to be a billion dollar brand, maybe, especially if his kids play well. It’s gonna be a big brand, and I think he’s doing a great job for his children.”

World Peace even went as far to say that he believes LaVar could be a sports commentator or NBA coach:

“I think he should be a commentator,” World Peace said on The Herd. “I think he would be a great commentator. I think he might even be a great assistant coach, potentially maybe even be a head coach in the NBA one day. It may freak you out, but the guy is marketable. I think Mr. Ball, he knows the game, and if he put more time into doing sports commentating, and maybe even getting an assistant coaching job I think he would do great, he’s a great personality.”

LaVar could have a field day with World Peace’s comments, although it is doubtful that any NBA team would hire him to their coaching staff after everything he has said in recent weeks.
