During the 120-97 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, Lakers guard Nick Young bumped knees and had to sit out the remainder of the game. Despite putting up 18 points off the bench, Young was visibly frustrated with his latest injury and the draining season.

After the defeat, Young talked about his time playing for both the Lakers and Clippers and compared the fans according to Shahan Ahmed from NBC Los Angeles:

I say the Clippers are more for the youth, they get more young people to their games. I think we just got that ‘vet’ feel. You know, the Lakers get that more mature crowd.”

When Ahmed asked what he meant exactly after Young was done with the general interview, he described Lakers fans the only way he knew how:

“Grown and sexy.”

During his time with the Clippers, Young was still in the process of learning and developing as a role player coming off the bench. Now, the 28-year-old USC alumni is in his eighth season. With his ability to create his own shot from the field, Young has always been a great contributor for the Lakers against playoff contending teams.

Despite the worst season in franchise history, Young has been one of the few bright spots. Although Young will likely opt-out of his contract this summer, many are hoping that he will return as the team’s sixth man.

In 59 games this season, Young is averaging 17.2 points while shooting 43 percent from the field and 37 percent from beyond the arc.
