Lakers News: Pau Gasol Makes Pledge Toward Philippines Typhoon Relief

paufection

Last week, the Los Angeles Lakers donated $150,000 in relief funds to the Philippine Red Cross to further assist those affected by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).

To Pau Gasol, that just wasn’t enough. Gasol has always been known to be one of the more compassionate professional athletes in the business, as his giving nature on the basketball court seems to translate well in philanthropy and service to the community. Well the heart-felt Spaniard is back at it again.

After hearing the news of the devastating tropical storm that struck the Philippine Islands, Pau is making a grand stand to help those that were tremendously effected by the sudden natural disaster.

This morning he tweeted:

Immediately after that tweet, fans united with Pau to make their own financial pledges for every point that he scores against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. Hopefully Pau is very aggressive against the Warriors, as those points will be used toward a good cause.

Anyone that desires to assist Pau in his efforts, and wants to make a pledge, you can do so by clicking here.
