Lakers News: Team Breaks Franchise Record For Three Pointers Made

Utah Jazz v Los Angeles Lakers

In one of the oddest games ever played by the Los Angeles Lakers, the team was forced to play with only eight players, ended up with five available and set a franchise record for three pointers made.

The Lakers hit 18 three-point field goals in the win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night according to ESPN Stats and Info via Twitter:

Along with hitting a franchise record 18 threes, the Lakers also set season-highs with 119 points and 35 assists against the Cavs.

Despite an unusually solid performance across the board for the undermanned Lakers, it wasn’t easy for this team to pull out the win. The team might have been red-hot with 18 made three pointers, but this team simply can’t stay healthy and continues to struggle to close out opponents.

Along with the franchise record for threes and the team ending up with only five players, Nick Young went down with a knee injury and Jordan Farmar appeared to re-injure his leg.

A crazy game with a wild ending to say the least, but the Lakers were able to snap the seven-game losing streak by getting the best of the lowly Cavs on the road.
