Lakers News: Team Names Glenn Carraro Assistant General Manager

In a statement released by the Lakers today, the team has announced the promotion of Glenn Carraro to the position of Assistant General Manager. The announcement was made by the team’s General Manager, Mitch Kupchak.

Carraro spent last season serving as both Director of Basketball Administration for the Lakers, as well as General Manager of the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The team also announced that Carraro will retain his title of General Manager of the D-Fenders, who lost in the D-League Finals.

Kupchak spoke highly of Carraro when announcing the decision.

“Glenn has done an excellent job in every position he has had in the organization, and he’s become a valuable part of our staff,” said Kupchak. “This is a well-deserved promotion for him, and I expect he’ll do an excellent job in his new position.”

It’s been a long career in the NBA for Carraro, who has 17 years of league experience. He has been a member of the Lakers front office staff since 2000. Carraro originally joined the team as the Assistant to the General Manager/Director of Camps, but was promoted to Director of Basketball Administration back in 2006.

Despite his responsibilities with the Lakers, Carraro also served as the D-Fenders Assistant General Manager from 2006-2010 and was named D-Fenders General Manager at the start of the 2011-12 season.
