The Lakers were able to put an end to their losing ways Friday night by rallying to a 101-92 win against the Boston Celtics. New Laker addition, MarShon Brooks, led the charge early in the fourth quarter by scoring the Lakers’ first three baskets. Kent Bazemore, who was also acquired in the Steve Blake trade, made his Laker debut and provided the Lakers with some much needed defensive intensity. Saturday’s practice aimed to further integrate the new Lakers into the system before Sunday’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets.

There was also some good news on the injury front as Nick Young is expected to play in tomorrow’s game:

Chris Kaman to Nick Young: "Nick, you playing tomorrow?" NY: "Yeah, brother." CK: "I love that. I love that! I LOVE THAT!"

Xavier Henry practiced as well after being cleared to resume basketball activities. It appears Henry is getting closer to return and was seen dunking during the practice session:

Apparently Xavier Henry dunked in practice today, which worried Nick Young a little. “I don’t want him trying to fly yet.”

Although he is practicing, Henry still has some work to do before making his return to the hardwood:

Mike D'Antoni estimates Xavier Henry could be a week away from returning

The addition of the healthy bodies coupled with acquisition of Brooks and Bazemore could serve as a spark to help the Lakers remain competitive in games during the second half of the season. The Lakers face a tough schedule for the rest of the season and there still remains some hope that the Lakers could develop some chemistry going into the offseason.
