This ad is the start of a rollout for the new Nike Mind Slide, an innovative footwear recovery line that was launched earlier this year. The Mind Slide was engineered to promote both physical recovery and mental well-being following grueling workouts and high-stakes competitions and features 22 articulated nodes embedded in the footbed which, Nike claims, stimulate sensory points linked to relaxation and bodily rejuvenation.
Aside from its plush, cushioned foam structure, the slides stand out for their sensory stimulation technology, which was meticulously designed to help melt away tension and accelerate recovery times after intense physical output. The Nike Mind Slide is part of a growing wave of products laser-focused on athletic recovery.
Nike knew exactly what they were doing in bringing Ronaldo and James together as the reach each of them holds is staggering on their own, let alone together. To use their star power to launch a new product line is just good marketing and all eyes will now be on those slides the moment they become available.
Both James and Ronaldo are longtime Nike partners with each securing lifetime contracts with the brand many years ago. Even though they are both 41 years old, James and Ronaldo continue to thrive and dominate in their respective sports, completely redefining what athletes are capable of in the latter stage of their careers. Of course, it remains unclear whether James will continue his playing career next season and, if he does, who he will play for as he is an unrestricted free agent this summer, free to sign with any team.
