After a disastrous start to free agency, the Los Angeles Lakers have rebounded nicely with the additions of Roy Hibbert, Lou Williams and Brandon Bass. Out of these moves, the most surprising one may have been the signing of Williams since the Lakers were targeting big men.

With Williams agreeing to sign a three-year, $21 million contract, the Sixth Man of the Year talked about playing with Kobe Bryant via Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders:

With Nick Young’s future unclear, Williams has established himself as one of the best scorers off the bench in his career. Although the backcourt may seem crowded, Kobe Bryant can make the shift to the small forward position at this stage of his career.

Heading into the 2015-16 NBA season, all the attention will be on the young, promising backcourt of D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson. With both players still learning the game, Williams is a proven veteran who can play major minutes.
