Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Luka Doncic is set to headline a three-city European tour as part of Jordan Brand. The tour will begin on June 16 in Madrid, Spain before going to Doncic’s hometown of Ljubljana, Slovenia on June 20 and ending in Belgrade, Serbia on June 21.

The tour is meant to celebrate basketball’s ability to connect communities while also inspiring the next generation of young players to carry the game forward for years to come.

Jordan Brand has long been committed to elevating athletes and advancing basketball culture globally and this tour will immerse Doncic in the environments that shaped him. Of course Doncic was born and grew up in Ljubljana, which is where his love for the game of basketball began.

He would go on to star for famed Spanish club Real Madrid from 2015 until 2018. There he garnered a number of accolades, helping lead the squad to three Liga ACB Championships and the 2018 EuroLeague Championship of which he was named MVP. And the Final Four of that year’s EuroLeague Championship took place in Belgrade, the final stop of this tour.

Doncic will engage and interact directly with local athletes and fans in each stop of the tour through retail store takeovers, youth mini camps, and marquee moments at The One tournament. This tournament is Jordan’s premiere global streetball platform that brings together the best young players in competitive, expressive play that isn’t normally seen in the more structured environments of professional basketball.

Doncic is one of the most beloved athletes on the planet internationally and this tour with Jordan Brand will be great for him to be able to connect with so many of his young fans around the world and continue to inspire them.

Lakers believe defensive concerns surrounding Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves are overstated

While Doncic is locked in to his long-term contract with the Lakers, the team will be looking to do the same this summer with his backcourt partner Austin Reaves. The pair were the highest scoring duo in the NBA this past season and have developed excellent chemistry both on and off the court.

Even still, there are some concerns about the duo going forward, particularly on the defensive end as neither is a lockdown perimeter defender. However, the Lakers reportedly believe that the defensive worries about the backcourt pairing are overblown and that won’t prevent them in any way from bringing back Reaves this offseason.
