Magic Johnson Documentary to Premiere on Sunday

Sunday, Mar. 11, ESPN will showcase its latest sports film and this time, the spotlight will be on Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Johnson shocked the world in November of 1991 when he announced that he was HIV-positive and would retire from the NBA because of it. Magic did return to the NBA a few years later, but he left his foot-print on the entire world.

Nearly 21 years later, Johnson is still as active as he ever was and is currently an ESPN/ABC analyst. The fact that Johnson fought through the virus for all these years is a testament to his character and inner-strength.

The documentary titled, “The Announcement,” will premiere on ESPN, Sunday at 9:00 p.m. EST.
