The NBA Trade Deadline is Thursday at 12:00 p.m. PT, and rumors have been swirling around about potential trades. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein and Ohm Youngmisuk, the Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets have agreed in principle to trade Jason Terry and Reggie Evans to the Sacramento Kings for Marcus Thornton:

The Kings received guard Jason Terry and forward Reggie Evans in exchange for Marcus Thornton. This season, Marcus Thornton has seen his numbers go down and has averaged 8.3 points a game while shooting 31.8 percent from behind the arc. Jason Terry has also seen his numbers decrease only scoring 4.5 points a game with a 37.9 three point percentage. Known for his rebounding ability, Reggie Evans has been grabbing five rebounds a game.

This would be the third trade the Kings have made this season, already acquiring former number two pick Derrick Williams from the Timberwolves and Rudy Gay from the Raptors. With these new additions, the Kings save themselves some money by getting rid of Thronton’s two year, $17 million contract. Terry has $10.7 million remaining on his deal while Evans is signed on for approximately $3.5 million over the next two years.

The Nets meanwhile have been engaged is trades over the last couple of days. There are still talks between the Nets and the Lakers over a proposed deal that would send Laker forward Jordan Hill to Brooklyn. The Lakers would most likely receive the Nets’ disabled player exception. In a season in which the Lakers find themselves missing the playoffs and headed to the lottery, any moves the Lakers make would have to be done to put the Lakers in better positioning for the future.
