Shortly after Andrew Bynum officially signed with the Indiana Pacers following three weeks of uncertainty surrounding his future in the NBA, another former Laker found a new home.

According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, Shannon Brown has signed with the San Antonio Spurs:

After being traded to the Washington Wizards along with Marcin Gortat and current Laker Kendall Marshall from the Phoenix Suns, Shannon Brown and Marshall were waived by Washington. Although many believed that Brown would simply sign with a new team after clearing waivers, the two-time NBA champion has been unemployed since being dropped by the Wizards in late October.

Fortunately for Brown, there is some light at the end of the tunnel with the Spurs needing some help in the backcourt. Even though Brown seemed to be a player that no longer needed to prove himself with a 10-day contract, that’s the position he’ll be in while in San Antonio.

Brown will help shoulder the load in the backcourt while Manu Ginobili is out three to four weeks with a hamstring injury.
