Owners, Union Hoping to Bring Back Federal Mediator

The league and players union may return to the negotiating table soon, according to sources, but they are hoping that federal mediator George Cohen will join them. Cohen tried to lift the NBA lockout in mid-October, but even his efforts failed to accomplish much. Nevertheless, the sides are ready to bring back Cohen and hopefully work with him to end the work-stoppage.

Yahoo: “The Players Association and NBA have discussed resuming talks with federal mediator George Cohen this week, league sources told Y! Sports, though no meetings are scheduled. The two sides underwent three days of mediation before talks broke down on Oct. 20.”

All NBA fans can wish for now is that the two sides schedule meetings and work toward agreeing on a new CBA. The more time they go without talking, the more NBA games will be missed.
