Pau Gasol Saw ‘Encouraging’ Results After Running Drills

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Brooklyn NetsPau Gasol has had a tough season thus far with the Lakers. Gasol has been adjusting to Mike D’Antoni’s switch ups of where he belongs in the rotation and on the floor, while dealing with a rather painful injury. I actual know a few people who have plantar fascia, and they say it can be brutal at times, and they’re not professional basketball players.

Just as soon as Gasol found his offensive rhythm on the team, he went down late in the game in Brooklyn on February 5th. MRIs and specialists confirmed he tore his plantar fascia, which would sideline him at least six to eight weeks. The Lakers have truly missed Gasol in the lineup, as his length and presence with the second unit was crucial.

However, there is some great news to report from Gasol’s recovery process. He participated in running drills for the first time today, and reported his progress on Twitcam to all his followers. Click here to view his Twitcam response.

While an exact return date is premature to give regarding Gasol, the mere fact that he felt minimal discomfort during running drills is promising. This means that he recovery seems to be on track, and we can all hope to see the Spaniard back on the court soon. Hopefully, the Lakers will be in a playoff spot by then as well.
