Phil Jackson’s Arrogance Is Not Helping the Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are playing mediocre basketball and they look no where close to a championship team.  The Lakers have won two consecutive titles with Jackson on the bench, but this is year is much different.  Phil Jackson has to understand that the Lakers are in need of help, and he must change his coaching strategy to fix the situation.

Jackson has been busy criticizing other coaches and he has had many questionable comments caught on record.  Instead of worrying about the Lakers’ troubles, Jackson was going off about the struggles of the Heat and Erik Spoelstra.

Phil has also openly ridiculed and blamed his players during interviews and press conference, most notably Kobe Bryant.  While Kobe understands Jackson’s way of coaching, Ron Artest does not appreciate Jackson’s comments.  Artest would like it if his coach would not make negative comments about him to the public.

Yes, Phil Jackson has won 11 NBA titles, but his arrogance is hurting the Lakers.  His coaching style has brought him great success, but this year is completely different.  In order for the Lakers to win the title, Phil Jackson might need to change some of his usual tendencies and focus on the team he works for.
