One of the most anticipated releases of the Kobe 9 exclusive sneaker line is set to debut Saturday, August 16 — the Nike Kobe Elite Low “Beethoven”.

The shoe has gone through changes from its initial official unveil. At first featuring a black outer swoosh, it has later been replaced with a new white outer Nike swoosh giving the shoe a brighter emphasis.

Kobe Bryant debuted the “Beethoven” during his recent trip to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The “Beethoven” name is a nod to one of Kobe’s inspirations, one of his “muses”, in particular the composer’s Ninth Symphony which the five-time champion has learned.

The grey colorway represents Beethoven’s “timeless quality”, featuring Nike’s three leading technologies Flyknit, Flywire, and Lunarlon which makes them lightweight, breathable, ideal for performing on and off the court.

The Kobe 9 Elite Low “Beethoven” is scheduled to release on August 16 at 5:00 AM PST at Nike.com
