The Los Angeles Lakers looked to keep things rolling on Tuesday night when they took on the L.A. Clippers in the Las Vegas Summer League.

The Lakers were going for a third straight win in Vegas and fifth straight overall this summer, and they were able to get it as they cruised to a 99-85 win over the Clippers. The Lakers have one more game remaining on Thursday against the Chicago Bulls before potentially getting an opportunity to compete for the Las Vegas Summer League title. They are one of four remaining undefeated teams, and four make the playoffs.

Chris Mañon got the Lakers off to a great start with his two-way play, pestering Clippers lottery pick Keaton Wagler and then hitting a corner triple. That energy sparked Lakers first-round pick Cameron Carr, who returned to the lineup after missing the last game with a thumb injury. He had a nice block and then hit a 3 of his own to give the Lakers the early lead.

Mañon continued his hot start with 10 first quarter points, while Arthur Kaluma came off the bench and picked up where he left off in the last game by burying his first two 3-pointers to give the Lakers a 24-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Carr got hot to begin the second quarter with back-to-back buckets to get the Lakers’ lead to double digits. Adou Thiero was fouled hard on a dunk attempt, which led to a little scuffle and a review upgrading it to a Flagrant 1.

It was all Lakers to end the first half as they were locked in on both ends of the court to take a 54-38 lead into the locker room.

The Clippers began the third quarter on a 12-2 run as they looked to claw their way back into the game. Carr and the Lakers got back on track with a strong end to the quarter though to get their lead back up to 15 at 76-58. Carr completed an impressive three-point play on a drive to the basket and then hit another deep triple with eight points in the frame.

While the game stayed chippy in the second half, the Lakers had no issues closing things out. Mañon had an impressive three-point play and Carr hit a 3 to put the finishing touches on the blowout victory.
