Reactions to Lakers’ 100-95 loss to Kings

The Los Angeles Lakers were clearly not focused on their game vs. the Sacramento Kings last night.  They were embarrassed on their home-court, and it was obvious that the Lakers were looking forward to their game on Sunday.  The Kings took advantage of the Lakers’ lack of focus, and they pulled off an unlikely upset.  Lakers fans hope that their team will come out more energy in the Sunday Showdown vs. the Celtics. The Los Angeles Lakers tried to climb back from a 20-point deficit, but they eventually fell to their former division rival.  The Kings upset the Lakers in Staples Center after an amazing run in the third quarter, and once again the Lakers fell to a sub-.500 team. [LakersNation]

Although the Lakers lost last night’s game, Kobe Bryant made history in the first quarter.  After a fast-break dunk, Bryant passed Hakeem Olajuwon for eight on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.  [LakersNation: Michael Goldsholl]

The Sacramento Kings came into the game as the underdogs, but they left Staples Center as victors.  The Kings came out of the gates firing, and they were playing with full energy and effort. The Lakers’ players believe last night’s loss was not a direct result of them looking forward to Sunday’s game vs. the Celtics; Lamar Odom jokingly blamed the media for the the Lakers’ 100-95 loss to the lowly Sacramento Kings.  The Lakers said the Kings played a much better game, and that they played with far more energy.
