The Los Angeles Lakers rough start to the season continued as the team fell to 1-7 after back-to-back losses to the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic.
Despite the wins not coming just yet, there have been some promising moments coming from the team’s young core.
This has not been lost on the rest of the team and center Roy Hibbert took to his Twitter account to heap praise on the Lakers young players:

Hibbert is certainly right in that Lakers fans have a ton to look forward to with these young players, and they have shown flashes of just what to expect. Jordan Clarkson leads the Lakers in total points through eight games, and Julius Randle has looked unstoppable at times.
While many have been unhappy with D’Angelo Russell’s minutes, he is coming off one of his best games against the Magic and looked more aggressive than in any other game. Larry Nance Jr. has also quickly carved himself out a rotation spot after being inactive for the first three games of the season, and certainly looks like another keeper for the Lakers.
Though Hibbert failed to mention him, Anthony Brown looked very solid in the preseason and has all of the tools to be a very good ‘3-and-D’ player in this league as well. The wins aren’t coming just yet, but Hibbert is spot on as the future is beginning to look a little brighter for these Lakers.
