VIDEO: Byron Scott Says Lakers Bigs Got ‘Outplayed’ In Loss To OKC

The Oklahoma City Thunder nabbed 16 offensive rebounds in their 108-101 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. Head coach Byron Scott said post-game that the Lakers bigs simply got outplayed.

I thought their bigs were much more aggressive and much more physical than ours,” Scott said post-game. “All of our bigs got pretty much outplayed tonight.”

Jordan Hill did have his 18th double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, but Serge Ibaka and Enes Kanter combined for 29 rebounds, nine of which were on the offensive glass. Ed Davis scored all of his 10 points in the first half, on 5-5 shooting, and finished with six rebounds and two blocks.

It was the fourth game this season where Davis was perfect from the field when attempting at least five shots. The Lakers also has five blocked shots in the third quarter, their most in a quarter this season.

Both Davis and Hill agreed that the offensive rebounding discrepancy was the main reason for the Lakers loss. Davis said some of that discrepancy could be attributed to how the ball bounced, but Hill said a lot of it simply has to do with heart. Davis says they plan to take it all out on Charlotte on Tuesday when they face the Hornets.
