VIDEO: Ed Davis Adjusting To New Lakers Starting Spot

In his third start of the season (and second since Lakers head coach Byron Scott replaced Carlos Boozer in the starting lineup), Ed Davis was perfect from the field (5-5) for 11 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes. In his last two games as a starter, he is now 10-11 from the field.

Acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies, via a three-team trade, Davis has been one of the bright spots to this 6-16 Lakers season, knocking down his shots and giving his team and the crowd a much needed burst of energy with his shot-blocking abilities.

Prior to the Lakers loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, Byron Scott promoted Davis to the starting lineup, mostly for the work he puts in on the defensive side of the floor.

Though Boozer was not initially happy with Scott’s decision to move him to the second unit, Boozer was quite effective in his role, leading the bench with 15 points, encroaching on Young’s role as the leading scorer off the bench.

In our video above, Ed Davis discusses adjusting to his starting role and Boozer being a part of the second unit. Plus, Davis touches on the Lakers wearing “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirt during pre-game warmups.
