Video: Jodie Meeks Talks About Backing Up Kobe Bryant

With the Lakers off-season acquisitions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, it was easy for another brilliant “BussChak” move to fall under the radar. What some may not realize is that the addition of Jodie Meeks could easily be one of the biggest pieces to the 2012-2013 championship puzzle. At the reserve shooting guard position, Jodie Meeks gives the Lakers a crucial edge of being able to rest Kobe while also adding to the team’s outside shooting.

Simply, it was just another genius move within the Lakers organization. And, Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters was at Media Day to ask Jodie Meeks all about it. When asked about how it felt to be described as Kobe Bryant’s back-up, his laughter told the story.

“To be on the same team with him is unreal.”
