VIDEO: Jordan Clarkson Nears Triple-Double, Finds Out From Kobe

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their 54th loss of the season on Wednesday night, 113-92 to the New Orleans Pelicans. Rookies Jordan Clarkson and Tarik Black both had impressive performances.

Black set a career-high with 16 points on a career-best eight made field goals (on just 10 attempts) and Clarkson was just three rebounds shy of a triple-double with 18 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and just one turnover in his 31 minutes. When asked about Clarkson’s performance after the game, Scott said he was unaware that the rookie was nearing such a potentially historical stat line. (There have only been three Lakers rookies with triple-doubles: Magic Johnson, Jerry West and Elgin Baylor.)

Clarkson said he did not know he was that close to a triple-double until he went to the bench and Kobe Bryant told him.

Kobe told me, he’s like ‘You missed it by three,'” Clarkson said.

After the game, Clarkson pointed to the lack of stops and defensive mistakes. Plus, the rookie talks about the news of the Lakers signing his former college teammate Jabari Brown to a multi-year deal. It’s all in the video above.
