VIDEO: Kobe Planning To Spectate 2016 Olympics, Watch Pau Win Silver

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant spoke with the media before the Lakers vs. Chicago Bulls game Monday night. Earlier, current Chicago Bulls head coach and Team USA assistant coach, Tom Thibodeau, said he would try to convince Bryant to play in the 2016 Olympics. Bryant was amused by Thibodeau’s comments.

“He can try all he wants. I love Thibs,” Bryant told Lakers Nation on Monday. “That conversation with him would be more than welcome.”

But, just because Bryant will happily hear Thibodeau out, doesn’t mean he’s changed his mind about not playing in the 2016 Olympics. Bryant has no intention of playing in the 2016 Olympics, which happens to be after his contract expires with the Lakers.

“I’ll go and spectate,” Bryant clarified after saying he has no plans on playing in the 2016 Olympics. “I think I’d rather watch Pau…win another silver.”

Of course, Team USA beat Pau Gasol’s Spanish squad in the 2012 Olympics, and Bryant plans on ending his Olympic career on that note. Check out our video above and don’t forget to subscribe to our Lakers Nation YouTube Channel.
