After his announcement, Nash sat down for an interview with ESPN’s Marc Stein to discuss his career, legacy, and time with the Lakers.

Nash spoke about coming to the realization that his playing career was done and his constant workouts throughout the off-season to try and prepare himself for the season before finally deciding it wasn’t possible.

He also spoke about enjoying being able to watch how Kobe Bryant approaches the game, but was disappointed with how he and Kobe were barely able to play together due to both being injured for the better part of the three seasons they spent together.

Ultimately Nash’s time with the Lakers didn’t go the way anyone hoped, but Nash put everything he possibly could into coming back and unfortunately it just wasn’t meant to be.
