VINE: Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell Puts On A Show At Rookie Photo Shoot

D'Angelo Russell

Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell and forward Anthony Brown took part in a photoshoot for NBA rookies on Saturday. An annual event that Julius Randle went through last season for the Lakers.

What will D’Angelo Russell make this season? Find out here!

As seen in the picture below, Russell and Brown joined 35 other NBA rookies for the photo shoot, via Pat Connaughton. Larry Nance Jr. doesn’t appear to be in attendance:

The second overall pick put on a show for all his fellow rookies during the photo shoot by hitting a couple of incredible shots. D’Angelo’s first shot was an almost full-court heave resulting in a perfect swish on the other end while the cameras were rolling, via NBA’s Vine account:

Russell’s next shot may have been even more impressive. Immediately after nailing this ridiculous shot, D’Angelo went with his best Kobe Bryant impression:

One can only hope that imitation of Kobe also carries over to production on the floor for the Lakers next season. All eyes will be on the rookie point guard right out of the gate once the season gets underway in October with a lot of pressure to live up to expectations while potentially being the new face of the franchise.
