Lakers News: Marcus Landry Hints At Lakers Future Via Twitter

The Los Angeles Lakers have potentially locked down another roster spot, and it appears Marcus Landry may be the frontrunner to become the newest addition to the squad.

Five days after the news broke that the Lakers reached an agreement to sign undrafted rookie Elias Harris, Landry hinted at a future with the Lakers on his Twitter account Wednesday with the following tweet:

Over the past few weeks or so, Lamar Odom has been rumored to be in the running for one of the final roster spots. Odom and the Lakers’ front office have expressed mutual interest in a reunion, but the team has grown increasingly skeptical of what the two-time NBA champion can bring to the table after two disappointing seasons with the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers.

With the team seemingly passing on the opportunity to bring back Odom for a second stint, Landry may very well be the last player the team intends to sign to a guaranteed contract.

Landry made quite an impression during the summer league leading to the Lakers’ decision to sign him outright or invite him to training camp.

After two short stints with the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, Landry has played in Puerto Rico, Spain, China and Venezuela. Landry has also played in the NBA D-League with the Maine Red Claws and Reno Bighorns.

During the summer league, Landry averaged 15.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting 37.1 percent from beyond the arc. Landry primarily plays the small forward position and fits the mold of Mike D’Antoni’s style of offense.
