Nike announced a new NBA Standard Issue Collection that ushers in a new look for the league by reimagining how team identity and basketball culture are expressed. Nike’s new line brings performance-informed design, modern fit and expressive team identity together in a connected visual language for today’s NBA.
Each piece is designed to draw inspiration from all aspects of the modern hooper’s world, from the court and stage to movies, gaming, style and fashion.
NBA players are going to wear pieces from the collection during warmups and practices, and while traveling with their respective teams.

The Lakers Specter Edition jersey has not yet been officially debuted but Nike did offer an early preview. The jersey features a black base with yellow trim around the numbers and player last name. Also featured is a blue and white stripe near the shoulder area, seemingly in a tribute to the Lakers’ time in Minneapolis.
Across the chest is “Lakers” in a smaller-than-normal font and above that the trademark Nike swoosh.
NBA teams with Specter Edition jersey
The Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings are receiving Specter Edition uniforms as well.
When and how to buy Standard Issue collection
Nike’s NBA Standard Issue collection will launch in separate releases on Sept. 15 and Oct. 12. It will be available at Nike.com, NBAStore.com and select retailers. Specter Edition uniforms and apparel will go on sale later this fall.
Lakers jersey options
The Specter Edition is going to give the Lakers five different uniform options to wear on the court.
They still have the Icon Edition (gold), Association Edition (white), Statement Edition (purple) and City Edition (black) options. The Lakers’ City Edition jersey for this season is expected to remain the “California Dream” design that was first unveiled for the 2023-24 campaign and was brought back last year.
