The Los Angeles Lakers are among eight teams that will introduce a new Specter Edition jersey for the 2026-27 season, which is arriving alongside Nike’s NBA Standard Issue Collection.
The collection of hoodies, pants, t-shirts and shorts is designed in two tones. Some items feature bold, oversize graphics, while other products are more understated pieces.
“Basketball is more than a game — it’s a culture and a form of self-expression,” Nike Basketball vice president/creative director Ross Klein said in a statement. “This collection celebrates the attitude, creativity and individuality of today’s hoopers, combining bold team identity and modern style so fans can show their connection to the game in their own way.”

Nike’s NBA Standard Issue Collection introduces a new look for the league by reimagining how team identity and basketball culture are expressed.
Lakers items for the speciality collection include multiple sweatshirts and pants, t-shirts, shorts, purple tank top, and a sleeveless shirt.

One of the Lakers sweatshirts features an oversized “LA” logo in yellow, which is in stark contrast to the approach taken with the minimalist logos on their Specter Edition jersey.
Nike envisioned each piece being designed to draw inspiration from all aspects of the modern basketball player’s world, from the court and stage to movies, gaming, style and fashion.

“This collection represents the next evolution of our partnership with Nike, redefining how team identity and basketball culture are expressed across the league,” NBA global head of merchandise partnerships and business affairs Michael Brady said.
“By connecting what athletes wear on and around the court with how fans express their passion for the game, the collection brings a new energy and a modern look to NBA fandom.”
NBA players will wear pieces from Nike Standard Issue Collection during warmups and practices, and while traveling for road trips.
Where to buy Standard Issue collection
For the first time, fans will be able to purchase the same products worn by NBA players, creating a connection between the league look and how fans represent their teams.
Nike’s NBA Standard Issue collection will launch in separate releases on Sept. 15 and Oct. 12. It will be available at Nike.com, NBAStore.com and select retailers. Specter Edition uniforms and apparel will go on sale later this fall.
