Ron Artest Believes NBA Will Not Miss Games Due to Lockout

Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest stated Sunday that he believes the upcoming NBA lockout will not cost the league any regular season games.

“I don’t think there’s going to be a long lockout. I don’t think we’re going to miss any games. I think there’s going to be some negotiations but I see us playing in October. I think Mr. [David] Stern and [NBA Players Association director] Mr. [Billy] Hunter will resolve it. I think they’re going to learn from the NFL lockout. America isn’t America without sports. You wouldn’t want to be the guy who messed up sports.”

With the current collective bargaining agreement set to expire following the season and the long-awaited labor dispute that is sure to follow, many fans are wondering if there will be an NBA season next year at all. Many players are looking for possible secondary forms of income just in case the lockout does extend into the regular season.

Artest is apparently looking to begin a comedy show known as ‘Ron Artest’s Ultimate Comedy Tour.’ It is scheduled to begin in mid-July and has four shows already booked.
