With the seventh pick, Kentucky power forward Julius Randle may be an option for the Lakers. According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, Randle talked about the possibility of playing with Kobe Bryant:

It would be extremely fun, I could learn a lot from him and talk to one of the greatest, if not the greatest player of all time. There’s a lot I could learn from and pick his brain in just how to get better and dealing with adversity.

After the worst season in franchise history since moving to Los Angeles, Randle is interested to see what the team does to get back to where they are used to being:

That will be interesting to see, they have a great organization. With their organization, they’ll do whatever is right to get back to where the Lakers were used to being.

With only Robert Sacre on contract, adding Randle to the lineup would help the Lakers in the rebounding department. Known for his rare combination of finesse and power on the hardwood floor, he had a nation-leading 24 double-doubles when he played for Kentucky.

Measured 6-10 in shoes and weighing in at 240 pounds, Julius is a an impressive ball-handler for someone his size. With excellent body control in his repertoire, he can easily avoid his way around opponents in the lane.

The 19-year-old freshman led the Wildcats to the National Championship game this year and averaged 15 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
