The Los Angeles Lakers suffered yet another blowing loss at Staples Center on Wednesday night and it came against their Pacific Division rivals, the Sacramento Kings. The Lakers and Kings have already met three times this season and the Kings have come out on top in all of those matchups. DeMarcus Cousins once again led the way for Sacramento with 36 points and helped guide the team to a 112-93 victory.

As for the Lakers, their leading scorer was Brandon Bass who finished the night 18 points, followed by Kobe Bryant and Lou Williams with 15 each. Nevertheless, it was a lackluster performance by the Lakers and the Kings out played them on both ends of the court.

Following the loss, Kobe Bryant spoke to the media and talked about the Lakers resolve moving forward, via Mike Bresnahan of Los Angeles Times:

The Lakers now stand at 9-35 on the season and have just one win in nine tries against Pacific Division opponents. The team has also lost four consecutive games and are 2-8 in their last ten games. With the All-Star Weekend in Toronto rapidly approaching, the Lakers have had very little success at the midway point of the season.

The team will be back on the court Friday night when it welcomes one the best teams in the league, the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are once again looking to claim the championship and they have been in title form all season long. Kobe Bryant has faced the Spurs many times throughout his 20 year career, but this may be the most talented and dangerous Spurs squad he has ever seen.
