According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, point guard Jose Calderon will miss 2-4 weeks with a hamstring strain:

Calderon suffered the injury in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies. He limped off the court and didn’t return and Jordan Clarkson started in his place in the second half. It was already known that Calderon would miss Monday’s game against the Utah Jazz, but this diagnosis is far worse.

Ever since D’Angelo Russell has been on the injury list after receiving a PRP injection in his sore knee, Calderon has done an admirable job filling in, averaging six points and 3.7 assists in nine starts. Now Walton will have to figure out another change to his rotation.

Marcelo Huertas played well against the Grizzlies, totaling seven assists in only 14 minutes, and he is likely to see more court time on Monday. Whether or not he gets the start remains to be seen as Walton could also go with Jordan Clarkson or Lou Williams.

On the positive side for the Lakers, Russell could be returning soon as he is set to meet with team doctors to determine how much longer he will be out. Russell’s original diagnosis was 2-3 weeks and it has been two weeks since the injection. His return will be very welcomed as the Lakers health issues are getting out of control.
