The 2017 NBA Draft is steadily turning into a spectacle, with the pre-draft rumors adding on speculation towards an uncertain event. After rebounding upon the conclusion of his first workout, all signs point towards Lonzo Ball being selected by the Los Angeles Lakers.

At this point, the Lakers are well aware that when selecting Lonzo, you also select LaVar Ball and the Big Baller Brand. The outspoken father has been really vocal in support of his sons, with two set to join UCLA in the footsteps of Lonzo. LaVar always instills an exuding confidence in his sons, believing they are all destined to play in the NBA.

Middle son LiAngelo Ball concluded his high-school career with an All-American selection, set to join UCLA as a freshman during the 2017 season. LaVar Ball was tracked down by ESPN’s Sam Strong, asking questions in lieu of the 2017 NBA Draft. During this interview, LaVar Ball confidently stated that he is going to replicate this process next season when LiAngelo declares for the 2018 NBA Draft:

“I’m not even done with this. You know I got to do this three times in a row? This is just the start, just to let ya’ll get a little teaser. I’m going to be here next year, again, with ‘Gelo. The same interview, with ‘Gelo.”

LaVar Ball has never been shy in boasting about his children and the NBA-type expectations he has for them. He presented these confident statements while spending time with his extended family, with his sons following behind him in the background.

LiAngelo certainly has some shoes to fill entering his freshman campaign, and likely his only season at UCLA if he follows in Lonzo’s footsteps. The following that the Ball family has acquired are in full support of the Big Baller Brand, with the entire Ball family providing constant subtle marketing tactics.

The Lakers are moving closer to selecting Lonzo in the 2017 NBA Draft, as the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. With the news of the D’Angelo Russell trade becoming public on Tuesday, it seems as though the Lakers certainly are in need of that play-making point guard. Expect to see the Ball family linked to the Lakers for quite some time.
