Lakers Video: Kobe Bryant Celebrates Eagles Beating Patriots To Win Super Bowl LII
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles capped off a remarkable season by defeating the favored New England Patriots in a back-and-forth Super Bowl LII. The Eagles won their first Super Bowl in franchise history and denied Tom Brady and the Patriots an unprecedented sixth Vince Lombardi Trophy.

There was also a revenge factor at play, as New England beat Philadelphia in 2005 to win Super Bowl XXXIX. At the time it was the Patriots second consecutive championship and third in four years.

Both teams were represented by celebrities and other professional athletes, whether in attendance at U.S. Bank Stadium or watching on TV.

Among them was Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. He naturally couldn’t help but let a few expletives fly once the Eagles cemented their 41-33 win with a pass break-up at the goal line on a Hail Mary attempt.

The entertaining sequence was captured by Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, and shared on the SportsCenter Twitter account:

That the Eagles even reached the Super Bowl is not a scenario many could have predicted. Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Week 14, which thrusted Nick Foles back into the spotlight.

Foles closed out the regular season 2-1, then helped guide the Eagles to three playoff wins. As Philadelphia was making their march through a successful regular season, Bryant joked with Chris McGee on Spectrum SportsNet’s “Connected With…” series that he refused to discuss the team’s accomplishments for fear of serving as a jinx.
