The Los Angeles Lakers have released their 2026 preseason schedule, which includes five total matchups against the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets.
They will kick things off on Oct. 5 in Sacramento, which is the first leg of a road back-to-back that ends on Oct. 6 in San Francisco. Considering these are the first two games of the preseason, the Lakers will likely split up their roster to avoid playing on back-to-back nights that early in training camp.
It’s worth noting that teams make their own preseason schedules, so the back-to-back is the Lakers’ own doing and not the NBA’s.
The Lakers will then have two matchups at home on Oct. 8 against the Kings and then Oct. 16 against the Denver Nuggets, which will be their final exhibition game before Opening Night.
Sandwiched in between those two home games is the Lakers’ annual preseason trip to Las Vegas, where they will again take on the Warriors at T-Mobile Arena. The Lakers have made that trip every year in the preseason for a while now, although this year they will not also be playing a game in Palm Springs as they have in the past.
With a brand new roster and only five preseason games, the Lakers will not have a lot of time to gel as a unit and build continuity. That puts more importance for JJ Redick on their training camp practices and scrimmages to figure out lineup combinations and rotations that work.
This preseason should be a fun one because of those new faces though as Lakers fans will get their first look at Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes, Sandro Mamukelshvili, Collin Sexton and the rest of the roster in purple and gold.
Tickets for the Las Vegas game at T-Mobile Arena go on sale July 24. Tickets for the preseason contests at Crypto.com Arena go on sale in August.
Spectrum SportsNet will broadcast all Lakers preseason games, with radio coverage on ESPN LA 710 AM and in Spanish on KFWB 980 AM.
The Lakers preseason schedule is presented by Delta Air Lines, the official airline of the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers preseason game in Las Vegas is presented by MGM Rewards.
