So many of the greatest players in the history of the NBA have worn the purple and gold of the Los Angeles Lakers as they are truly the premier franchise of the NBA. As such, any discussion or lists of all-time greats is guaranteed to current or former Lakers stars.
Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker recently revealed his all-time starting five and it featured three Lakers legends in Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James:

Booker is well known as a huge fan of Bryant growing up, so his inclusion is the least surprising. He has also played against James for many years and won a gold medal with him at the 2024 Olympics while O’Neal is the most dominant force the league has ever seen.
The other two members of Booker’s all-time lineup might be cause for some debate amongst many. Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is certainly deserving of inclusion as the greatest shooter of all-time and is, in the eyes of many, the greatest point guard ever. However, many others still place another Lakers legend, Magic Johnson, in that top spot and believe he is unassailable.
For the final spot Booker went with Kevin Durant, another contemporary of his and someone else whom he won a gold medal with, not to mention the two were teammates on the Suns. Durant may be the most efficient all-around scorer the league has ever seen and is one of the best shooters of all-time as well. Some may question him over someone like Tim Duncan, but in the end it is Booker’s squad to put together.
These exercises are always interesting to see as it shows what players value in their all-time greats and just who they are fans of. But no matter who is putting together the lineup, a Lakers legend will always be somewhere on the list.
Lakers’ Luka Doncic 100% recovered from hamstring strain
One current player who has a chance to find himself on those types of lists and lineups in the future is Lakers superstar Luka Doncic, who has already carved out an impressive resume for himself since entering the NBA. Unfortunately, last season was cut short for him due to a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, but he recently revealed that he is 100% healthy and recovered from that injury.
