Lakers News: Mike D’Antoni Comments After Meeting With Dwight Howard

The Lakers wrapped up their meeting with free agent center Dwight Howard this afternoon and reported that it “went well.” Knowingly apart of the proceedings were Mitch Kupchak, Mike D’Antoni, Kobe Bryant, Jim Buss and Time Warner executives as the Lakers hope to convince Howard to stay.

After the meeting ended, D’Antoni spoke to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News and offered little-to-no comment about the meeting:

Jonathan Feigan of the Houston Chronicle also caught up with D’Antoni after the meeting:

Howard said he hopes to make a decision by July 10 and while he deliberates the pro’s and con’s to remaining with the Lakers or signing with another team.

Regardless, the Lakers organization has done its best to convince Dwight to stay through active billboard campaigns and Kupchak sneaking in a visit for him as free agency started.

The basketball world waits on Howard’s decision as what he eventually decides to do will help shape the NBA free agent landscape for years to come.
