The Los Angeles Lakers are without a head coach for tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors due to the firing of Mike Brown early this morning. The Lakers front office is looking to a replacement for Brown, but as of this point, assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff will be running the sidelines.

In tonight’s game versus the Warriors, Bickerstaff will be the interim head coach, but Adrian Wojnarowski tweets that Bickerstaff does not believe he will hold that title for a very long time.

Bickerstaff has told league friends that he doesn’t expect to be interim past a game, sources say. “He didn’t go to LA for that,” one says.

There are many possible replacements for Mike Brown, with names like Phil Jackson and Jerry Sloan already surfacing. Bickerstaff is a long-time coaching veteran in this league, but even he knows that the Lakers are looking for a high-profile coach.
