Byron Scott Intends To Keep Starting Lineup For 10-15 Games

After falling to the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers dropped to 5-16 on the year. The game marked the first time all year head coach Byron Scott opted to change his starting lineup as Ronnie Price and Ed Davis replaced Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer.

Even with the new rotations, the Lakers still lost the game and saw themselves trailing by double digits for most of the second half. Despite the lack of improvement, Scott revealed postgame he intends on keeping the same look for the foreseeable future, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

It took Scott 20 games to make his first change, and it appears he plans to do the same with Price and Davis as starters. It’s going to take some time for the Lakers to get adjusted with the new roles. Scott is hoping the Lakers will move on from Sunday’s loss and improve with the lineup change.

In his first game as the starting point guard, Price had three points and three assists in 26 minutes of game time while Lin provided three points and one assist in his 20 minutes.

As for Davis, he scored 12 points on 5 for 6 shooting while also grabbing seven rebounds. Boozer matched his 12 points, but had one less rebound with six. Davis saw 30 minutes of action while Boozer was on the floor for 23.

The Lakers will next face the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday with the new lineup eyeing a different result from Sunday night.
