With the 11-24 record, Scott says a lot of people have asked him how the Lakers are going to attract big-name free agents via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

In addition, Scott says the Lakers have a plan to get a ‘few really good basketball players’ via Winters:

Despite failing to sign LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony this past off-season, the Lakers were able to maintain their financial flexibility and will be players once again this upcoming free agency. This year’s class features Marc Gasol (unrestricted), LaMarcus Aldridge (unrestricted), Rajon Rondo (unrestricted), Goran Dragic (unrestricted), Jimmy Butler (restricted), Reggie Jackson (restricted) and Tobias Harris (restricted).

While the Lakers are likely headed to the lottery for the second consecutive season, they have an opportunity to sign two max contracts and put themselves in a position to contend in the highly competitive Western Conference.
