Byron Scott On Jeremy Lin: ‘He Did A Good Job Getting Us Into Our Offense’

Lin(1)The Los Angeles Lakers blew a fourth quarter lead against the Milwaukee Bucks, and suffered yet another loss in the post-Kobe world. With the game pretty much in their hands, the Lakers did not execute well and bailed out the Bucks with their poor shot selections. The match eventually went into overtime where Milwaukee prevailed and walked away winners, 113-105.

Jeremy Lin saw 30 minutes off the bench and the guard played well for coach Byron Scott as a reserve. During his action on the court, Lin notched in 11 points and six assists, while only committing one turnover. After the game, Scott spoke to the media and talked about the impact Lin made on the offensive end, via Los Angeles Daily News’ Mark Medina:

Lin has been in-and-out of the rotation this season and it is unclear just how much trust Scott has in his point guard. Even before playing for the Lakers, consistency was the biggest issue for Lin, and it continues to be mid-way into the season. If Lin wishes to see a future with the team past the summer, he has to be reliable on a nightly basis.

With this most recent loss, the Lakers now stand at 13-36 and are only four games ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the loss column. Although a few weeks ago it seemed like the Lakers would not be one of the bottom three teams in the league, it certainly looks like a possibility now.
