The Los Angeles Lakers have had a revolving door when it comes to the point guard position this season. Steve Nash was the expected starter coming into the season, but since his season-ending injury, the starting job has switched between Jeremy Lin, Ronnie Price and now Jordan Clarkson.

Price seemed to be a favorite of head coach Byron Scott, but hasn’t seen the court much in the last few games. According to Bill Oram of the Orange County Register, Scott has told Price that he won’t play until after the All-Star break:

Price’s elbow has been bothering him for a while and caused him to miss a couple of games earlier this month. Though his stats aren’t flashy, Scott loves his toughness and intensity, especially on the defensive end.

Scott’s lineups have been changing consistently throughout the season and each point guard brings something different to the table. It is also worth noting that the trade deadline occurs right after the All-Star break and the Lakers could be active with Lin and Jordan Hill being mentioned most as possible trade candidates.

When Price was signed before training camp, very few thought he would be a major part of the Lakers’ season, but he has had some very good moments. It will be interesting to see how everything shakes out once the trade deadline passes.
